Spider-Man: Homecoming Cast Surprise Kids at a New York Hospital

Back in August, Spider-Man: Homecoming star Tom Holland put on his Spider-Man suit for a very special occasion, to visit ailing children at an Atlanta children’s hospital, while production was still under way. Even though filming wrapped last month, Tom Holland put his iconic Spidey suit back on to visit some more children at New York Presbyterian Hospital earlier today. The actor’s co-stars Zendaya and Jacob Batalon were also on hand for this special visit.

The new video was posted to Zendaya’s Twitter account, with both the actress and Jacob Batalon briefly smiling for the camera before Tom Holland pays a visit to a young fan named Nicholas. Humorously enough, the youngster is actually wearing a Batman t-shirt. Even with Spider-Man himself in the room, Nicholas is asked if he really likes Batman better than Spider-Man. Nicholas doesn’t hesitate at all to nod in the affirmative, which causes both Zendaya and Jacob Batalon to burst into laughter.

Zendaya also made headlines earlier today, by insisting that she is not playing Mary-Jane Watson in this highly-anticipated movie. After Sony’s Comic-Con panel this summer, director Jon Watts confirmed that Zendaya is playing a character named Michelle, while Tony Revolori is playing Flash Thompson, Jacob Batalon playing Ned Leeds and Laura Harrier playing Liz Allan. Unfortunately, Zendaya wouldn’t say much more about her character, but it seems we may get our first look at Michelle and the rest of these characters soon.

Last week, an unconfirmed report claimed that the first trailer for Spider-Man: Homecoming will be attached to prints of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, which hits theaters nationwide December 16. The trailer is also expected to debut online before it hits theaters, but this news has yet to be confirmed by Marvel Studios or Sony Pictures. It isn’t known what will be shown in this footage, but since Zendaya is the female lead, it certainly seems likely we’ll get our first look at Michelle here.

Tom Holland also recently confirmed that he has signed on for six Spider-Man movies, three of which will represent the trilogy started by Spider-Man: Homecoming, and three more appearances in future Marvel movies. The studio hasn’t confirmed yet if he will return in Avengers: Infinity War, which starts filming in January, but hopefully we’ll get a full cast list soon. Until then, take a look at Spider-Man: Homecoming star Tom Holland’s interaction with a young fan at the New York Presbyterian Hospital today.
